2010 Season - Week 8

Owners Hall of Fame

Last year Johnnie was voted into the Owners wing after out pointing Marcus in a re-vote. He joined inaugural member Cheryl, Chief and Mark. Now someone else will join them. The rules are simple - each year one owner (past or present) will be honoured by the current owners. All you have to do is email me by December 1st the name you wish to place in the Hall of Fame, Owners Wing. Please note there is no room for narcissism in the BUMS - YOU MAY NOT VOTE FOR YOURSELF. Nominations are listed alphabetically on the attached sheet with the 12 current owners not in joined by the 5 former owners Andrew Gulliford, Mark Harris, Paul Privitera Phil Long & Steve Talbot. Let the campaigning begin, why do YOU deserve to be in? Terrible Week 8 Going into the final game of the week we had combined to score just 246 points which amongst 16 owners is an average of only 15.38 points per owner. The previous worst weekly average was 15.85 set by the 13 owners in the league in week three of the 1998 season. Fortunately Schaub, Johnson and Foster all scored a TD for Houston and Peyton threw two scores, one to Wayne and Vinatieri scored 12 points as the Colts (and Caldwell) won. In the end we totalled 291 points for an average of 18.19 points but that is still the 11th worst average of all time. It’s the lowest weekly average for 6 years. Shame on you. Hall of Shame While the Underachieving Bastards didn’t get off the schnide until their last player scored in the Sunday Night Game, The Weymouth Bay Bargaineers failed to trouble the scoreboard at all and so John Botten enters the Hall of Shame for the 5th time. He struggled as Atlanta, Baltimore and Cleveland all had bye weeks and DeAngelo Williams missed the Panthers game with an injury. His other 4 players failed to score as Patrick Crayton caught 4 passes for San Diego for 46 yards, in Dallas Miles Austin caught 7 for 117 but no scores and Tashard Choice 4 for 27 while Ken Whisenhunt and Arizona lost to Tampa Bay. Trading Day 2 Trading Day 2 is on November 14th before the week 10 games. That’s just 10 days away and Cheryl is planning something special on the food front, so please let us know by this Sunday if you are coming to HQ next Sunday, if you follow me. Obviously you can also trade by email or phone (on the day), or just not bother if you think your team is that good. BUMS on Seats We are at HQ on Sunday from 6pm to see Miami @ Baltimore and Indianapolis @ Philadelphia. We’ll be at H’s on Monday from 6:30pm to see Dallas @ Green Bay and back at HQ again on Tuesday from 6:30pm for Steelers @ Bengals. Call if you’re coming.
